Ali Farland

Hello! I am Ali Farland, an Animation & VFX Student at Drexel University. While my studies focus on 3D my heart has always been drawn to traditional art. My proudest moment as an artist was in high school when I won 3rd place in the Scholastic 144, a regional art competition at Shippensburg University, and sold my first original piece at a local art show.
Much to my parents’ dismay, my passion for art began at a young age, which naturally meant coloring anything and everything with my favorite purple crayon. I grew up in the middle of nowhere, Pennsylvania, and enjoy trekking around on muddy trails to find beautiful views or roller-skating around my local park. When I’m not outside, I’m curled up inside with a warm cup of coffee and a book or whatever video game was my current fixation.
As for projects, I am always sketching out new ideas and designing characters, but I am especially drawn towards lighting, surfacing, and making complex hard surface models with intricate moving pieces.
